Get ready to see Burrs Country Park in a completely different light as The Sunnywood Project presents LET’S DO LIGHTS! A vibrant, family-friendly celebration of movement, creativity, wellbeing and community, all taking place as day turns to night.

Following the success of Sunnywood Fest 2024, we’re bringing people together once again to explore the outdoors, get active and experience Burrs in a completely new way.

This time, we’re doing it through light, projection, music, movement, performance, storytelling and immersive experiences: transforming familiar spaces around the park and creating an evening of shared adventure after dark.

LET’S DO LIGHTS! is designed for all ages and abilities, encouraging people to walk, wheel, cycle, run, dance, create and connect in an inclusive and welcoming outdoor environment.

WHAT'S HAPPENING?

Expect an evening filled with glowing experiences, live performances and unusual ways to get active, including:

Illuminos Cycle Projection Experience:

Bring your bike and use your movement to control a projected moth, guiding it on an interactive journey towards a giant glowing moon.

Family Silent Disco Adventure:

Headphones on and get ready to walk, dance and sing your way around Burrs after dark.

Rave Fitness:

High-energy outdoor fitness sessions with Fitness with Lauren.

Campfire Tales:

Gather around the fire for outdoor storytelling with League of Curiosity.

Lantern Making & Lantern Parade:

Create your own lantern before joining our illuminated procession through the park.

Night 5k Trail Run:

Grab your headtorch and experience Burrs' trails after dark.

Glowing Sound Bath:

Slow things down with an atmospheric outdoor sound experience.

The Moonlight Gardener:

Blending modern circus skill, playful mime and cutting-edge sound-to-light technology, this enchanting show for all ages transforms simple acts of care into luminous spectacle.

SambaFriq:

Bringing rhythm, energy and live samba drumming to the festival.

Footlights Dance Academy:

Live dance performances throughout the evening.

UV Textile Workshop:

Get creative under ultraviolet light with Textiles with Murron.

Campfire & Marshmallow Toasting:

Warm up around the fire and toast a marshmallow.

Story Bell Tent:

Step inside for more storytelling and imagination.

Dr Bike:

Bring your bike along for free checks and minor repairs.

Walking Bus from Bury Town Centre:

Leave the car behind, grab your headtorch and start your LET’S DO LIGHTS! adventure with a gentle family walk from The Rock to Burrs.

And that's before the park itself comes alive with creative lighting, projections and spectacular video-mapped visuals across the historic Burrs Mill chimney.

At its heart, LET’S DO LIGHTS! is about finding creative and enjoyable ways to encourage people to get outdoors and be active together, while celebrating community, creativity and the incredible spaces we have right on our doorstep.

So wrap up warm, pull on some sturdy footwear, bring a torch or headtorch – and don't forget your bike!

Active Travel & Event Access

LET’S DO LIGHTS! promotes the enjoyment of being outdoors to improve health and wellbeing, while encouraging Active Travel through a range of exciting free activities suitable for all ages.

Parking at Burrs Country Park will be prioritised for those with mobility needs and event providers.

To access LET’S DO LIGHTS! we ask that you either:

Join the Walking Bus from Bury Town Centre
Cycle / scoot / walk into Burrs Country Park via your own route
Park considerately within the surrounding area and walk into Burrs Country Park

We'll also have a 'Dr Bike' onsite to provide any bike repairs or services for FREE.

In addition to the main field activities, we also have the following limited-capacity activities that must be booked in advance by selecting the events listed below.

General access to this event is available through a “pay what you want” donation. However, please only reserve a ticket if you intend to attend - you must have a ticket to access the event.

Any donation will contribute towards The Sunnywood Project’s youth and community work promoting the use of the outdoors for health and wellbeing.

You must book a 'General Entry' before booking any further activities.
