The Irwell Sculpture Trail is a unique outdoor art experience, bringing together public sculptures, local history and beautiful green spaces along the River Irwell and its surrounding communities.
The full 33-mile trail stretches from Bacup through to Salford - however, this page primarily focus of the section through Bury.
The Sunnywood Project has designed four routes that pass by each of the artworks - sometimes hidden artworks - across the town.
The published routes will guide you on adventures through Bury, Ramsbottom, Radcliffe and Whitefield, offering an opportunity to discover fascinating artworks, uncover the stories behind them and explore the borough's rich industrial and cultural heritage.
Each route combines art, nature and local landmarks, encouraging people of all ages to get outdoors, explore somewhere new and connect with their surroundings.
