About the Event
Walk of Hope
Join us on the 8th October at The Burrs Country Park for a gentle guided 3 mile walk as part of Greater Manchester's Month of Hope.
Using mainly trail paths, the route will pass through woodland and follow the River Irwell with views of the East Lancashire Railway, Holcombe Hill and local industrial heritage.
You will have chance to connect with the landscape with support from local artist Neil Greenalgh while you take in and admire the views.
This will be followed by free refreshments.
Parking
Free parking is availble, we advise you to use the new Jubilee Car Park situated in Burrs Country Park
What is the Month of Hope?
The Greater Manchester Month of Hope runs from World Suicide Prevention Day on the 10th September until World Mental Health Day on the 10th October.
The Month of Hope is about raising awareness of suicide and encouraging people to have open conversations about their mental health, whilst also sharing positive messages of hope across Greater Manchester.
This year, after an incredibly difficult 18 months, organisations across Greater Manchester are joining together to spread hope & are encouraging residents to join them in sharing what gives them hope, you can do this with friends, family and on social media using the hashtag #MonthofHope.
