Get ready to run, walk, laugh and be covered from head to toe in every colour imaginable as The Sunnywood Project's annual Colour Dash returns for 2027 - the most colourful event in Bury!

Whether you're chasing a personal best, enjoying a family day out or simply looking for an unforgettable experience with friends, our Colour Dash is all about having fun, getting active whilst supporting The Sunnywood Project's work.

Starting in a white event T-shirt, you'll make your way around a scenic 5km route through Burrs Country Park, following paths alongside the beautiful River Irwell and through our Colour Zones, where you will be showered with clouds of vibrant coloured powder.

By the time you reach the finish line, you'll be transformed into a walking rainbow!

What is a Colour Dash?

Our Colour Dash is a family-friendly 5km adventure that can be completed by running, jogging or walking at your own pace.

The route follows scenic trails around Burrs Country Park before passing through a series of exciting Colour Zones where you'll be showered with brightly coloured powder.

There's no pressure to finish quickly: it's all about having fun, making memories and celebrating together.

Is the Colour Powder Safe?

Absolutely.

We use specially manufactured coloured powder made from corn starch, talc and food-grade colouring, designed specifically for colour run events.

The powder may cause mild eye irritation, so every participant receives a pair of coloured sunglasses, although you're welcome to bring your own protective glasses or goggles if preferred.

Participants with asthma or respiratory conditions should consider whether this activity is suitable for them and bring any medication they may require.

What Should I Wear?

The aim is to finish looking as colourful as possible!

We recommend wearing clothing and trainers that you don't mind getting covered in powder.

Although most of the colour washes out, we cannot guarantee complete removal from every fabric.

Please bring:

• Suitable footwear for walking or running

• Comfortable clothing

• A drink

• A snack
