Welcome to the Squad!
Whether it's exploring the wild or learning new skills, The Sunnywood Squad is all about making friends and getting outdoors, and we're usually doing some good while we're at it!

​The Sunnywood Squad is a programme with a focus on outdoor activities, social action, and conservation, aimed at improving the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of those attending. Previous activities and achievement of the Squad have included:

Conservation of green and blue spaces in the Kirklees Valley Nature Reserve and farther afield

Whittling and bushcraft

Hikes and treks around the Irwell Vale, Holcombe Moor, and the Burrs Country Park

Footpath restoration and tree planting

Nature scavenger hunts and team-building games!

Fishing sessions with our friends at Ramsbottom Angling Association

And a whole heap more!

The Sunnywood Squad is intended to support children who may be experiencing any of the following:

Low mood
-
Loneliness
-
Poor mental wellbeing
-
Low self-esteem
-
Stress, including exam stress
-
Difficulty regulating their emotions
-
Behaviours which challenge at home or in school

Sessions take place on a Tuesday from 6pm - 7:30pm. There is a suggested donation of £5 per session, however we understand if you are unable to make this payment or wish to donate a different amount.
