Chasing Sunsets Hike & Trail Run: The Singing Ringing Tree

Join us for an unforgettable evening adventure as Chasing Sunsets series of weekly adventures heads into the Pennine hills to visit the iconic Singing Ringing Tree.

Perched high above the town of Burnley, this remarkable wind-powered sculpture creates hauntingly beautiful sounds as the breeze flows through its pipes. Combined with sweeping views across the surrounding moorland, it makes the perfect setting to watch the sun drop below the horizon.

What to Expect

Our Chasing Sunsets events are all about seeking out epic sunset viewpoints, and this route delivers big skies, open moorland, and a truly memorable destination.

Each route covers approximately 4 miles, but the focus isn’t on distance, the focus is the social experience:

• Enjoying a relaxed evening on the trails

• Meeting like-minded hikers and runners

• Capturing incredible sunset photos

• Sharing plenty of laughs along the way

Hikers and runners begin at the same start location but head out on the route in opposite directions.

Along the way you’ll pass each other - the perfect opportunity to stop for a group photo moment, hopefully with the sunset as teh backdrop.

The event is led by a qualified Hill and Moorland team with extensive experience guiding in upland environments. We’ll take care of the planning, route, and navigation so you can simply enjoy the adventure.

Kit requirements:

Specific details and requirements for each Chasing Sunsets event will be emailed prior to the date however, for the the majority of events, it maybe requested that you bring the following:

• Waterproof jacket

• Spare warm layer

• Fully charged mobile phone, with OS Maps or OS Locate app installed

• Suitable trail shoes or boots

• Personal snacks and drink
