About the Event
Take Root - Fit for Purpose 💪
Take Root is a brand new six-week Hike & Trail Run series - with a little extra!
As always, these adventures will promote embracing the outdoors for our mental, physical and social wellbeing however, this series will also provide a deeper opportunity to EXPLORE, LEARN and GROW by collaborating with the Holcombe Moor and Stubbins Estate National Trust team.
Over six weeks, you will have the opportunity to ‘give back’ a little to the wonderful green spaces we so often use and also take a few moments to appreciate how awesome these spaces actually are - and just how lucky we are to have them.
Although, on every The Sunnywood Project event, we consciously make every attempt to leave only footprints when we’re out, it is inevitable that the amount of collective footfall we have on the trails will, no doubt, have had some environmental impact.
Ironically, the beautiful spaces we admire, appreciate, and so often take photos of, are actually being negatively impacted by our constant use.
We therefore, in collaboration with the National Trust, want to provide the opportunity for you to contribute a little to conserving and restoring the environment whilst also continuing to explore, appreciate and admire how awesome it is.
Each of the six adventures will cover a distance of 4-5 miles suitable for both Hikers and Trail Runners - the difference this time is that within each of these routes, there will be the opportunity to participate in a short task that aims to either conserve or admire the surroundings that we’ll be exploring.
Small simple tasks that we can complete whilst Running or Hiking that will make a huge difference in helping to maintain the environment.
