Join us for an unforgettable evening adventure as our Chasing Sunsets series of weekly adventures heads to the stunning upland landscapes of Holcombe Moor, passing by the iconic Peel Tower.

Peel Tower offers spectacular panoramic views across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and beyond. As the evening light softens and the sun begins to set, this dramatic hilltop location becomes the perfect place to pause, take it all in, and enjoy a truly memorable sunset experience.

What to Expect

Our Chasing Sunsets events are all about seeking out epic sunset viewpoints, and this route delivers open moorland, rolling hills, and one of the North West’s most iconic sunset spots.

Each route covers approximately 4 miles, but the focus isn’t on distance: the focus is the social experience:

• Enjoying a relaxed evening on the trails

• Meeting like-minded hikers and runners

• Capturing incredible sunset photos

• Sharing plenty of laughs along the way

  
  

Hikers and runners begin at the same start location but head out on the route in opposite directions.

Along the way, you’ll pass each other making the perfect opportunity to stop for a group photo moment, hopefully with the sunset as the backdrop.

Bring your camera, your sense of adventure, and your love of big views.

Kit Requirements

Specific details and requirements for each Chasing Sunsets event will be emailed prior to the date, however for the majority of events, it may be requested that you bring the following:

• Waterproof jacket

• Spare warm layer

• Fully charged mobile phone, with OS Maps installed

• Suitable trail shoes or boots

• Personal snacks and drink
