About the Event

Youth Walking Adventures – Easter Adventures with The Sunnywood Project

This Easter, The Sunnywood Project is excited to offer Youth Walking Adventures – outdoor adventure days designed to help young people reconnect with nature, build confidence, and enjoy time away from screens.

What to Expect

We’ll meet at the Sunnywood Hub in the Burrs Country Park where participants will board the Sunnywood minibus before heading out to explore the moors and other beautiful green spaces across Bury.

Our adventures are all about:

  • Developing a love for the outdoors

  • Supporting positive mental wellbeing

  • Encouraging healthy, active lifestyles

Each daily adventure will cover approximately 4 miles over mixed terrain, with plenty of breaks and a relaxed pace. We’ll stop at a picturesque spot for a picnic lunch, provided for all participants, giving time to enjoy the scenery and unwind together.

Who Is This Suitable For?

Ages: 8 years and up

Research shows that spending time outdoors can help to:

  • Reduce stress and fatigue

  • Boost the immune system

  • Reduce anxiety

  • Encourage regular physical activity

These walking adventures are particularly well suited to young people who:

  • Maybe experiencing low mood or low self-esteem

  • Would like to make new friends or grow in social confidence

  • Want to be more active and spend time in nature, but don’t enjoy team sports

That said, anyone who fancies an adventure is very welcome to join us!
