Sunday Morning Trail Run

Service Description

A supportive Sunday morning trail run with the emphasis on exploration. Discover new routes and trails each week. 🌱 Each route will still be around the usual 4-6 miles at an easy, social pace with plenty of opportunity for rest breaks and to take photos of the scenery 📸 The Sunday morning Trail Run will follow the Road (Trails) To Nowhere series. Every Sunday morning from the 7th January until 11th February 2024, meeting on the field beside Greenmount Play Area, Brandlesholme Road. Prior to each activity, a large 'compass' will be spun to determine the cardinal direction to be explored - this will be followed by a flip of a coin between Hikers and Runners to determine the direction of travel along the route. Each route will be around 5 miles in distance exploring stunning green spaces and areas such as: Holcombe, Summerseat, Brandlesholme, Burrs, Elton, Walshaw, Tottington, Affetside, Hawkshaw, and everywhere in between. The trails will take us through woodlands, along waterways, through Nature Reserves, passing historical and interesting places - truly showcasing the best area that can be explored from a single location over six weeks. The only thing we don't know is which specific area we will be exploring from week to week - that fate remains with the spin of the compass before we set off. As a non-profit, charitable organisation, dedicated to using the outdoors to enrich lives, the proceeds from all our adventures help fund and sustain our youth service and other community activities that promote the benefits of embracing the outdoors. Our adventures are all led by a qualified, knowledgeable and experienced team who will provide encouragement, support and humour along the way.
