Service Description

Our Sunday morning Trail Hike. 🌱 Each route will still be around the usual 4-6 miles at an easy, social pace with plenty of opportunity for rest breaks and to take photos of the scenery 📸 The Sunday morning Hike will follow the Tower Tour series. Every Sunday morning from the 21st April until 26th May 2024. Over a series of 6 weeks, you will visit historic towers and monuments, which together feature the 6 historic Towers from our Monument Marathon. The hikes take place mainly on trail paths passing by a series of iconic landmarks, woodland and open meadow - truly showcasing the stunning green spaces around the town. For each of the 6 weeks the routes visit the following historic towers: Week 1 - 21/04 - Grants Tower - meeting at Ashworth Moor Reservoir Week 2 - 28/04 - Tentering Tower - meeting at Ramsbottom Week 3 - 05/05 - Peel Tower - meeting at Holcombe Week 4 - 12/05 - Turton Tower - meeting at Entwistle Reservoir Week 5 - 19/05 - Bradshaw Hall - meeting at Jumbles Country Park Week 6 - 26/05 - Radcliffe Tower - meeting near Bury Town Hall For anyone who wishes to complete the Monument Marathon on 31st August can book via the following link: https://www.thesunnywoodproject.co.uk/event-details/monument-marathon-2024 As a non-profit, charitable organisation, dedicated to using the outdoors to enrich lives, the proceeds from all our adventures help fund and sustain our youth service and other community activities that promote the benefits of embracing the outdoors.
